Sunday rumour round-up

The closer we get to the July/August window the more transfer rumours we're going to get on a Sunday. So here goes:
  • The News of the World, which has been running 'Sturridge to leave' stories all season, has another today. David Harrison writes that Sturridge has turned down an offer of £60,000 per week, and will now leave in the summer in search of first team football. But would he get it at Villa Park or Stamford Bridge, his two alleged destinations?
  • Something more believable from the NotW is the claim that Phil Brown wants Tal Ben Haim and Darius Vassell for £4million. I don't imagine either of them will be here this season, and it will be a team like Hull that takes them.
  • Bob Cass in the Mail on Sunday writes that we're chasing Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o, and will pay £20million for him. This is just about believable - he has been in a contract battle with Barca all season and doesn't have a very good relationship with Pep Guardiola. But I imagine he might want to play for someone better than us.
  • And Duncan Castles writes in The Observer that Barcelona are eager to sell at least one of Eto'o and another City target, Thierry Henry, to fund other moves in the transfer market.
