International round up

  • Craig Bellamy sat out of Wales' match with Germany. Ched Evans came on for the last twenty eight minutes though, but could not turn the game around. Wales lost 2-0.
  • Gelson Fernandes was an unused substitute in Switzerland's two-nil home win over Moldova.
  • Shaun Wright-Phillips came on for England when the score was 1-1, with eleven minutes remaining. John Terry scored the winner on eighty-five minutes. Correlation, in this case, was said to imply causation.
  • Belgium lost to Bosnia-Herzegovina for the second time in five days, despite this time having Vincent Kompany available. City's future captain was booked on 62 minutes.
  • Shay Given and Richard Dunne were central to winning a crucial point for the Republic in Bari. They kept Italy to 1-0 for 89 minutes, at which point Robbie Keane scored a crucial equaliser.
  • Nigel de Jong played all ninety minutes of Holland's 4-0 defeat of Macedonia.
  • Ryan McGivern played the second half of Northern Ireland's 1-0 win over Slovenia at Windsor Park. Apparently he played well.
  • Felipe Caicedo came off at half time in Ecuador 1 - 1 Paraguay.
