City linked with €60m Eto'o bid

I don't think we should take this too seriously, but it is interesting.

Catalan daily Sport has an article this morning saying that both FC Barcelona and Samuel Eto'o have been approached by an MCFC representative. (Original here, English translation here)

They have been told to expect a bid from City of €60million (£57m). Eto'o himself has been offered €15m/year - that's £14.36m/year, or £276k/week - comfortably more than what Robinho earns.

As exciting as this sounds, there are a few things to wary of. The 'MCFC representative' could be one of these anauthorised figures, as with the £100+m Casillas bid. Another possibility is that it is to do with Eto'o's contract negotiations: his current deal expires in summer 2010 and he is currently in talks with the Barcelona board. We have to get used to this sort of thing.
