I hadn't seen this anywhere from our end, but I was just looking at Sport.es this morning and there was a story which said that City have been invited to contest Barcelona's glamour pre-season friendly - the Trofeu Joan Gamper.
The clubs initially asked - Inter, Milan, Porto, Juventus - couldn't make it and so we've been asked instead. Looking at the two clubs' schedules, I can only see it being around Wednesday 12 August, just before our opening day trip to Ewood Park.
But what a sign of our new-found notoriety!

Can't see City arranging anything in the week leading up to the start of the season when surely the focus will be intense on how we start off.
Apparently scheduled for the 18th. Not impressed, after the way midweek games killed us last season. Would be a disaster to have to field a second string for our second league game as a result of this!
