Kompany out of Belgian game on Saturday

A slight tear of a muscle in his hamstring has put Vincent Kompany out of Belgium's game with Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday. The injury was sustained against Sunderland last Sunday and he has returned to City for treatment. He may play for Belgium next Wednesday away in Bosnia but they have called up Jeroen Simaeys as a precaution.

This is only good news for us: Kompany has been struggling for some time with his toe injury, and has looked in recent weeks like he's running on empty. And with Nigel de Jong ineligible for the UEFA Cup games, we desperately need Kompany fit for the last four steps of our road to Istanbul.
