Ade let off

Good news, I suppose:

Emmanuel Adebayor has escaped a ban for his incendiary goal celebration in Manchester City's 4-2 defeat of Arsenal after the Football Association accepted that he had been responding to "extremely provocative" chants from supporters of his former club.

Adebayor, who had just completed a three-match suspension for stamping on Robin van Persie in the same match, was instead fined £25,000 and given a two-match ban suspended for a year after admitting a charge of improper conduct at an FA disciplinary commission hearing in London today.

How was he 'let off'? He has been punished. He has the same suspended ban, and a larger fine, than the last guy who did something similar (G. Neville vs Liverpool).

Absolute proof that the old farts at the FA are a disgrace to the game of football.

more proof of inconsistency and double standards in sentencing. In my opinion Neville's reaction at the derby was far worse, especially as we was not even on the pitch!

While I will in no way excuse Ade for his actions that does not absolve the Arsenal away support of blame. Their chants were were tasteless and classes and most people short of a buddhist monk probably would have reacted to the abuse that was shelled out by the Arsenal fans. While I'm glad City did not pursue the behavior of the Arsenal fans further, I'm disappointed the FA did not.

that should read tasteless and "classless"

What's this "I suppose" rubbish Jack? Methinks your friends, like Henry, are beginning to corrupt your judgement. I'm afraid it's not the first time either.
