Three and a half hours left: Mariga deal off

Apparently he can't get a work permit.  So the deal's off - according to the BBC.

It's a shame, but I guess we might go back for him in the summer.

Now how about that £20m bid for Lady Gago...

Unless Inter move quickly today, we can pick up Big Mac in the summer. He's the new Michael Essien they say.

Why are we after midfielders? I'm sure whoever we bring in might give us a little extra, but surely it's our defence that needs sorting. Please can we make a marque signing in the next few hours.

our defence has lots of options, we lose out in the middle, the 1st line of defence and attack.

Barry and ireland dont add much at the moment, Mariga isnt really like essien. He takes the ball and drives it forward, he's very strong and can tackle.

shame!

not sure why we waited until deadline day to do a deal!

True, our defence has options.
Since Mancio arrived at least we're getting some clean sheets.(finally!) and we paid near £50milli in summer on defence.

Our MF however,.. on paper should be near top 4 quality but in recent games hasn't been solid enough. if mariga is so good then we should snap him up in the summer!

Never having seen Mariga play, I'm in no position to say what he can or can't do but isn't taking the ball and driving it forward, being very strong and tackling Essien to a T?
