Hughes watches Villa and Agüero

According to The Telegraph's John Ley:

Manchester City manager Hughes and executive chairman Garry Cook flew to the Spanish capital to see Villa, who was due to line up for Valencia against Atletico Madrid at Estadio Vicente Calderon last night. He has been a long-term City target since the arrival of the club’s Abu Dhabi owners last September.

Atletico forward Aguero has also been monitored by Hughes’s scouts this season, but Villa is understood to be high on City’s summer hit-list.

Atlético won 1-0, courtesy of a Diego Forlán penalty.

The penalty being as a result of a rediculous dive by Aguerro, I believe. I don't want this type of player at City, he'd be better off practicing his diving technique with The One Trick Pony over at the Swamp.

^ top plays dive... i'd rather have a top quality star who dives now and again..rather than some mediocre workmen..

The argentine has the right work ethic and great ability!

While a fantastic game it was one of the poorer Valencia performances and Villa didn't do much.

Still the best striker in the world IMO. If we could sign him it would send serious signals about our intentions. Imagine a forward 3 (in Man U-esque fashion) of Robinho, Villa and Tevez.

The man can dream...
