Elano to Inter?

So claims The Sun:

JOSE MOURINHO plans to celebrate his success at Inter Milan with an £8million move for Elano.

He thinks Manchester City’s Brazilian playmaker will adjust to life better in Italy than England and enjoy Serie A football far more.

City will also recoup the cash they splashed on Elano in August 2007.

This makes perfect sense. Even with Elano's recent upturn in form, Hughes' unwillingness to consider a new contract despite requests suggest that he'll leave this summer. And given his passing ability but lack of athleticism Serie A makes perfect sense. If Mourinho can get the best out of him he'd add a bit more nuance to a rather unsubtle Inter midfield. Worth keeping an eye on this one.

What are you on about, we already have two excellent holding players in Kompany & De Jong, three if you include Zabaleta?

I think all City fans like Elano, me included. Trouble is, one good game in ten will not help us win anything. If he could only get a "Stevie Ireland attitude" transplant, what a player he would be. Shame really.

Won't be sorry to see him go. He's a fair weather player imo. A spot of rain and his game goes to pot.

I also wouldn't be at all surprised to see Petrov go in the off season as well.

MH has done his very best to drive him out (as he has Robinho). We can look forward to hoof it up the middle tactics again. Another year wasted.

We've heard nothing but how SAF took time to to gel - nobody mentions the fact that SAF learnt very early on to make the swamp a hospitable place for his most talented players. Seagull boy springs to mind...
