RSC helps Paraguay to point

City fans will be surprised to hear that Roque Santa Cruz was not fully fit for Paraguay's Group F opener with Italy, which they drew 1-1. But he came on with twenty two minutes left, tasked with holding the ball up as a very hard-working Paraguay side tried to hang on under intense pressure from the world champions. Roque had a nice touch or two, overhit one pass and generally looked relaxed. It's difficult to say that his introduction was a key factor in Paraguay's holding on for a point, but I think I will anyway.

Why do you keep ignoring Chris Killen? - he was really good today
