Samaras quiet in Greek defeat

City legend Georgios Samaras started for Greece in their 2-0 defeat to South Korea in Port Elizabeth. He started on the left of a front three, nominally offering support to front man Theo Gekas. It was not a very good performance.

As I remember, Samaras made one galloping run down the left from which nothing resulted. And that's about it. Of the ten teams to play so far, Greece have been by a distance the worst.

"quiet" is a nice way to put it. I remember him getting the ball stripped away fairly easily two or three times. It was a performance justifying all of the slagging off by City fans when he was a Blue.

Greece was just trying to make the case that we should return to 24 team World Cups... Can't decide which is worse - Greek performance in 1st game or Greek fiscal policy the last 5 years...
