Interesting stat

From Steve Kay at MCFCStats:
Looking back, in twelve away league matches, City have won one, drawn four and lost seven, and the only Brazilian outfield goal was Robinho’s saver at Blackburn. Contrast that to eleven Brazilian goals in thirteen matches at home!
The cleavage between our home and away form is one thing; but the disparity between the performances of our Brazilians at CoMS and on the road is bizarre.

Any theories?

Why don't we change our away strip? A nice yellow with a green collar and number. Seriously, it might just work...

I think it is simply down to the way in which City play at home. There's more adventure, there's width and space and there's less of the impatience and fear that prompts our defenders to knock wasteful balls up to the front.

Away from home, we play a narrow and cautious game. The opposition press harder and higher and we quickly resort to safer balls out of defence.

As I've said before, I'd like to see us less defensive away from home. 4-4-2 would give Robinho space and support by restricting the opposition full-backs and occupying the centre halves. Brazil play an expansive game at home and away, keeping the ball and stretching the most vulnerable parts of the defence they're facing. It's no wonder Robinho and Elano thrive in such a set-up.

... and I agree with Dansidi's idea, not least because our away strip is grim. It's got to be worth a try.

Let's start by wearing Blue against the Red bindippers this weekend... Can't do any harm!

Mind, the Orange 3rd kit isn't exactly anonymous...
