Top 50 City players

Fascinating stuff from Ric Turner, godfather of Bluemoon, at TimesOnline. He's written the 50 greatest Manchester City players.

An unfortunate by-product of my age (I was born a few weeks before Micah Richards) is that I know almost nothing about these great players of past eras. As such, I can't really offer much opinion on the ordering - particularly at the top of the list. The highest placed player from my time as a City fan is Kinkladze at 12. I remember Paul Lake (No. 24) being injured, but not really as a player.

Not sure I'd have Goater below Dunne, Wright-Phillips and Anelka though.

But let me know what you think.

I agree with you, there is a fair few players in the wrong order, only my opinion though of course.

Having Dunne in at all is a joke not in even in top 500 IMHO But to leave Peter Barnes out and have Dickov in! well Ric must be on drugs

Can't argue with the top 3, but I'd have put Mike Smmerbee above 13. He made a lot more goals than he scored. And yes, I'm old enough to remember watching him - I was a regular mid 60's to early 70's. Live too far away now!
