News this week of our entrance to the Carling Cup at the second round means we'll be playing four games in eight days later this month.
Starting with West Ham at home at 4pm on Sunday 24th (live on Sky), we then have our League Cup tie on Tuesday 26th, our trip to FC Midtjylland on the evening of Thursday 28th before facing Roy Keane's Sunderland on Wearside on Sunday 31st.
Hughes is understandably frustrated. But, as fans, isn't this great news? After the Sunderland game there are 13 days before our next match (Chelsea at home, Saturday 13th September, live on Setanta). That's ages!
And if all these games in a short period of time increases our chances of seeing Vladimir Weiss or Danny Sturridge in the first time, that only makes it more exciting. I've spent so long waiting for the season to start I'm not going to pretend to feel screwed over by the authorities when City get to play so many matches in such a short space of time.
