Di María to stay

So says the Benfica President:

"The Benfica fans can be calm. Di Maria will not leave the club in January," Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira told A Bola.

"We know there is interest from big clubs in the kid but we need his help for many objectives like the Portuguese league."

You should be more than aware my friend that all clubs and players have their price, they have tried to slap a price on Di Maria's contract in hope no one will come calling.

Surprise surprise, City have the money and Di Maria will be at City in January if Hughes wants him.

Do you honestly think Di Maria's club will turn down £30 million?

You have to be nuts to think no.

Well if there is a release cause then they can't actually turn the bid down.

Personally I think this story stinks to high heaven. The idea that City would even consider spending 30 million pound on an untested player seems more than far fetched, especially given the MO of both Hughes and ADUG.

I have no doubt City scouts have taken a close look at this player and that maybe even Zabeleta and Tevez have recommended him to Sparky, but I also think that's where it ends.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, just because City can break the bank to obtain a player doesn't mean they should. Paying 30 million pounds on a kid with an unproven track record just smacks of recklessness.
