- A scoreline that will stay long in the memory. Not the result of a team at all at ease with itself or its future.
- This is not a retroactive defense mechanism, but I didn't care at all about the outcome of the match at the time. Not only because my enthusiasm for City has been drained by recent events, but because as far as I did care about today's match it was not in traditional footballing terms, but in the sense of keeping our Fair Play spot. So it could have been worse.
- I am as 'pro-Sven' as any City fans, but I think there is a case to be made that he has been so undermined by recent events that he ought to be let go. The players don't seem to believe in him any more and the Chairman clearly doesn't (even IF he is forced to change his mind). Remeber Jol at Tottenham - a manager wrongfully undermined has still been undermined.
- The Jol case is one cause for optimism. Sometimes, popular managers are controversially sacked and it all turns out ok. Another good example is Ranieri: Chelsea fans were furious when he was dismissed but it led to the most successful period in their history. We don't know who'll be managing us next season. It could turn out well.
- I'll do some sort of season review later this week.

Today was disgusting, perhaps the lads took the notion of Fair Play too literally in allowing themselves to be reduced to 10 men and then to concede 8 goals against a less than free-scoring Boro side.
You may be right about a potential upturn in fortunes for City with the appointment of a new manager. Trouble is, if Jol or anyone else's funds are to come from the sale of Richards et al, I don't want to see it. I want Sven to stay, even if we have been a bit cack since Christmas. This is our best ever finish in the Premier League era, and Sven ought not to lose his job. Hopefully sense will prevail; Sven will be spared the chop, Frank will loosen the purse strings, Richards will stay and we won't be knocked out by Shelbourne!
Don't be too despondent about today; we lost 8-1, but we're going into Europe and we don't owe £765m!
