BBC on Mariga's permit problem

The BBC's football reporter Chris Bevan tells us about McDonald Mariga's failed work permit application via Twitter:

    i heard we expected an appeal. with close links with a kenya as a commonwealth nation, it should get through

    doesn't the second story say that the appeal was turned down?

    I am a bit surprised TBH. 8m quid, great stats from his time at Parma, not many 6'2 midfielders around.

    maybe someone on the appeal board had an axe to grind!
