On top of pure income through Europe next season, working our way up the league will encourage the next level of player to join us. I feel RSC was an opportunity missed, but in many ways he needed to be if we're not going have the piss taken out of us for every player enquiry for the next 5 yearsChrisRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13383034558657220334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2858389158764090793.post-43523584069449607382009-02-02T08:05:00.000+00:002009-02-02T08:05:00.000+00:00Most people seem to be giving RSC a hard time: 'on...Most people seem to be giving RSC a hard time: 'one season wonder', 'not worth £12m never mind £20'.

I bet they weren't saying that last season when he was banging them in for fun and being coveted by most managers.

Surely you pay what a player is worth at the time - if the toothless debacle at Stoke was not enough to convince people that we need a target man the way we currently play, then - don't know what will.

We could discuss all day long the relative worth of players but in the end if you really need a certain type of player and the managers of the clubs that possess that type of player know it, then it is a sellers market.

Just think how much £20m for RSC would really be if it helped us qualify for Europe next season by either finishing high enough up the table or winning the UEFA Cup.

It doesn't have to be RSC though, any similar type of player Sparky can snaffle on the final day would be good.

Surely people must have seen the emphasis placed on pumping high balls up into the Stoke defence when we had no one over 5ft 9ins to challenge for them.

Okay play another way, play it along the floor to feet - that didn't work at Stoke either.BluePeterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03393198804911492525noreply@blogger.com
